Shipping Information

Purchases are shipped within 3 business days after payment. If there is a delay in shipping for any reason I will contact you.

Within the United States, I ship via United States Postal Service (USPS) First Class mail. This does not include insurance on your item(s). If you would like your item(s) insured; please leave a note in the “message to seller” section when you check out, or contact me.

International Shipping

Shipping to international destinations can take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. I ship USPS First Class International mail. Please keep in mind that the laws of customs vary greatly, and there may be restrictions and/or customs fees, import duties, or taxes. Abacus Bead Creations is not responsible for any customs fees or duties that may be charged in your country.

If you would like insurance or expedited shipping on your package please contact me before purchasing and I will find out how much extra this will cost.

Refunds, Returns and Exchanges

Please contact me right away if there is any problem with your jewelry purchase.

Damaged Items

If your jewelry was damaged during shipping please contact me within 7 days and then return the item to me. I will mail a replacement piece to you once I have received the damaged piece back.

Refunds and Returns

Abacus Bead Creations wants you to be a happy and satisfied customer. If you are not happy with your item for some reason, please contact me first. Each return or exchange is handled on an individual basis.

Returns or exchanges of unworn, original condition jewelry can be made within 7 days of the purchase date. When returning the item to me, please package the item carefully to ensure it is delivered in its original condition. Return shipping costs are not refundable. After I receive the item back I will mail a replacement piece or issue a refund through PayPal.

Please note: For sanitary reasons – earrings cannot be returned.

Packaging

All necklaces, bracelets and watches come with a decorative silk drawstring bag. Items that are made with sterling silver will also be enclosed in a Ziploc bag with a tarnish strip. This protects the silver from oxidation. I recommend keeping your jewelry in a Ziploc bag when you are not wearing it.

Each item is packaged carefully in a padded envelope to make sure that your package arrives safely.

Use of Natural Gemstones and Sea Shells

Many of my pieces are made with natural gemstones and sea shells. This gives each piece its unique quality. These natural stones may have a slightly different shape, size and color than what is shown. When making my jewelry I hand select the best stones/shells for each piece.

Care of Sterling Silver and Other Metals

Sterling silver and gold-filled metals will tarnish when they are exposed to the air. This is called oxidation. To help keep your jewelry from oxidizing, keep it stored in a Ziploc bag along with a strip of anti-tarnish paper (included with purchase).

If your jewelry becomes tarnished there are products you can use to clean it. Silver polishing cloths are treated with tarnish removing solutions. There are also cream or paste silver cleaners such as Twinkle Silver Cream or Wright’s Silver Cream which are available in department stores, jewelry stores, and on the internet.

I do NOT recommend using liquid (dip) jewelry cleaners as these are too abrasive and will actually damage the silver by removing the outer coating. Even though this type of cleaner makes your jewelry shine like new at first, when used repeatedly it will cause permanent damage. (I found this out myself the hard way!)

Please do not wear your jewelry when swimming or showering. It is recommended that you put your jewelry on last after using lotions, perfume or hairspray that could damage the metals or gemstones.

If there is an item in the Sold section that you like, please contact me. I may be able to make a similar piece for you if I have the right materials.
