Description

Beautiful fused dichroic glass pendant on a base of black featuring streaks of green, blue and silver dichroic accents. The glass component measures 7/8" x7/8" and is attached to a sterling silver (not plated) decorative bail. The length with the attached bail measures 1 1/4" long.

Each piece of fused glass is formed from several layers of sheet glass that is fused together at about 1500 degrees to form a single layer of glass. The glass is then cut and/or the edges are ground to shape each piece. The glass is then fused again in the kiln to soften and round the edges for a finished look. Some pieces can be ground/shaped and fused many times in order to achieve that perfect shape or matched pair for earrings. After each kiln fusing, the glass is properly annealed through a very slow rate of cooling to insure its strength and durability.

Dichroic glass pieces can be difficult to photograph as the colors can change based on the light conditions but I do my best to showcase the true colors.
