Why is shipping for one bar of soap $5.05?
................................

If you do a search say, by 'soap' you'll see my rates are competitive. Compare product price as well and then factor in together.

Some sellers charge $2.20 a bar plus $1.50 each, some do flat rate like I do. It's not often that someone buys just one bar of soap. Once you hit 13 ounces the rates go up, for us, the sellers.

Three and up bars goes into a Flat Rate USPS box which costs $5.05 for me to post. Under that gets wrapped up and sent First Class which may or may not be cheaper. I don't like to use that much cardboard for two or less.

Also, shipping a bar of soap to the East Coast, where I live is one thing, it goes way up when I ship to say, Seattle. So, I made a decision a long time ago to make a Flat Rate.

As a seller it also takes into account packaging, etc. and allows me to keep my prices where I'd like them to be. USPS supplies are free, but I prefer to be as eco conscious as I can and us alternative packaging when possible.

I can assure you, the shipping is not a back door profit. Soap is heavy, towels are heavy, all are a business cost. I do not refund differences in shipping.

I do ship Worldwide I can ship up to a pound for $10.50 or seven soaps for $12.50 International Flat rate. It's best to buy this way because shipping even 5 ounces of soap runs almost $5.00.

Ten percent of all profits are tithed to Big Paw Rescue http://search.petfinder.com/shelterSearch/shelterSearch.cgi?shelterid=OH685&preview=1 in addition to other small run dog rescues.

Working with and helping dogs across the nation is our life long passion. All three of our dog's are rescues and we look forward to being able to assist more dogs and the people who care for them as we grow.

Ever transported? Check out http://ruralshelterhelp.blogspot.com/ The realities of shelter dogs even as close as an hour out are much different than the ones here. Most rural shelters are understaffed and almost all still use gas to kill the dogs that can't find homes.

If you have a couple hours on the weekend you can save a dog's (often more than one) life simply by driving it from one transporter to the next. When a dog has five days in a shelter before being put down, a few hours of your time can make all the difference.

I am proud to say my goat's milk soaps are not made with palm oil, but with sustainable oils, good for you, good for the planet.

My goat's milk soap is hand milled by yours truly. This entails making a big batch of goat's milk soap base that is then cured, grated and soaked in goat's milk.

All of my handmade soap is made with natural goat's milk in addition to a special blend of skin loving, moisturizing oils, every batch of our handmade goat milk soap also contains Shea Butter that makes our soap rich and creamy.

Ingredients: soybean oil, coconut oil, goat milk, lye, water, shea butter, sesame seed oil, olive oil, powdered milk, fragrance

A note on lye and it's tendency to freak people put. Any aspect of lye that would otherwise be harmful is negated (and needed) during the soaping process. My soap is cured a long time, further insuring it's mild. Then it's milled and cured again. The result is a very mild, non scary bar. Just don't rub it in your eyes because that will hurt regardless.
