My name is Vicki Schofield and I am the owner of Black Creek Crossing, where I offer handcrafted fashion and home accessories for you and yours! I've been a crafter all my life. As a child I loved painting with watercolors. I would often experiment with adding other "ingredients" to my paint, most notably talcum powder and glue. Later I dabbled in oils and acrylics but eventually discovered crochet and counted thread embroidery.

I fell in love with counted cross stitch and as a result, I traded my crochet hook and yarn for a tapestry needle and embroidery floss. Stitching became my obsession for nearly thirty years. In 2000 I began designing original counted thread designs and in February 2001 I launched "A Stitch and a Prayer" where I offered my patterns for sale to needlework shops.

Toward the end of 2010 I began to feel the urge to pick up my crochet hook again. Considering that I had also begun making jewelry in 2008, I resisted the urge to resume crocheting. However, in January 2011 I finally gave in and purchased some yarn. My intent was to make a few hats and scarves for my family. But I enjoyed such a new found love for crochet that I began to accummulate finished products and decided to open Black Creek Crossing here on Zibbet to offer these lovingly hand crocheted items for sale!

I am a former high school teacher turned full time jewelry and needlework designer and crochet addict! I am a wife and mother and mother-in-law. My family is second only to my faith in God! I am deeply committed to all that I hold dear--my faith, my family and my creative pursuits.
