Description

You can use this pattern to crochet sweet and cuddly little Bearalyn McRaggle for that special little girl! Bearalyn is 8-1/2" when crocheted with DK (double knitting) weight yarn and a C crochet hook, just the right size for little hands to play with. You can use different thread and hook sizes to make her larger or smaller; just use the same size hook and thread for the bear and the clothes. For instance, you can make a 3-inch bear by using punch thread or size 12 perle cotton and a size 12 hook, or a bear about 11 to 12 inches with worsted weight yarn and a G or H hook.

The pattern includes the jointed bear (cotter pin and disk-jointed neck, and thread-jointed limbs - instructions included) with incorporated shoes and striped stockings, dress with attached apron, bloomers, and hair bow. The pattern is clearly written, with a great deal of detail, and includes several color photos.

When made according to the pattern, Bearalyn is suitable for children ages 6 and older. You can make her safe for smaller children by embroidering the eyes and buttons, and sewing the head, arms and legs to the body rather than jointing.
