Merino wool is the softest wool available. It is recommend it for sweaters and next to the skin items. Wool is usually finer in diameter ( softer) as the length is shorter.
Merino wool has a shorter length and may be a challenge for beginning spinners.However Merino felts well and dyes easily. It also works well in plying with other exotic fibers such as silk.

This Merino wool roving is that used in our line of hand dyed multicolor Merino rovings.
