This earthy, natural handmade necklace boasts an AUSTRALIAN QUEENSLAND BOULDER OPAL pendant in its rough, natural state as it is mined in the ironstone. Queensland Boulder Opal is excitedly different to other Australian Opals. It is a very unique and fascinating type of opal that is mined only in Queensland, Australia. Rain would dissolve some of the silica present in the earth's surface and the silica-laden water collecting on the ground then filled up cracks, joints and cavities. When the water evaporated, the remaining silica formed a gel made up of minute silica spheres. Boulder opal was formed when the silica mix flowed into veins and cavities in ironstone boulders and therefore the opal used has an ironstone base with natural pitting and texture. The vivid colors of flash in Boulder Opals give this amazing gemstone a real life persona. Each piece is unique in nature!!!

This particular Opal pendant is a freeform triangular shape with a smooth polish and some natural pitting texture. The colors that flash in some of the veins in the lower section of the stone when the stone is placed at different angles in the light is a turquoise blue and electric green. Complimenting the pendant are beautiful robin blue genuine Sleeping Beauty Turquoise rondelle and barrel shape stones,dark amber swarovski crystals all suspended on a genuine antique finish Copper chain. Just Stunning!!!!!
