It all started when I brought the small brownish-black ball of fur home…

When I told people I would be adopting a puppy, I kept hearing the same thing over and over, “it’s a lifestyle change”. I thought, really? This cute little ball of fur was going to change my lifestyle? Snowboarding, golfing, weekend getaways, all THAT was going to change? Ha! I don’t think so.

Not only did Sophie change my lifestyle, she changed my life! She has taught me to enjoy the small things in life. A walk through the neighborhood is an adventure full of critters. A visit to the pet store is nirvana. Seeing a good friend is so exciting I could just pee (okay, not really but she is so excited to see them she makes ME excited to see them).

Gone are the golf balls (except the ones she likes to chew on). I haven’t seen my snowboard for two seasons. This (now large) brownish-blackish ball of fur is my daily companion who guides me through life with a smile and a wag.
