I can't remember a time when I didn't have a camera close at hand. It seems like my life has been punctuated with cameras that defined not only an era, but me as well: my first Brownie Box Camera, a Brownie Hawkeye, several Kodak Instamatics, at least three SLR's, and numerous point-and-shoots. Now I use digital cameras exclusively, because they give me more freedom, but I admit to longing for the feel of my old Pentax in my hands.
As I enter the second half of my life, photography beckons that I spend even more time viewing the world through a lens. My passions are wildlife and nature, but I also find great beauty in things that have lost their usefulness: old vehicles, condemned buildings, ghost towns. I am fascinated by the stories they tell, and my camera is the storyteller.
I currently live in the beautiful Southwestern United States, which affords me endless photo opportunities. I love living in an area alive with natural history and many, many stories.
When I'm not shooting photos, I can be found chasing the dog around the house with a camera. She is not amused.
