I work in Asheville, NC's River Arts District, where there are many talented artists and a lot of good creative energy.
My work is primarily in oils and encaustics, though I work sometimes in pastels or other mediums that momentarily inspire me. When I can, I go hunting for something to paint en plein air, or essentially, from life, out in the open. There are times when painting outside can really be transformative, when I lose myself in the painting, the scene, the elements.
