This is a plein air painting, done outside. Plein air works are valued by collectors who like the immediacy of the work, knowing it was done on the spot, and in front of the subject.

Pieve Stones is a study of a tiny corner of an old Tuscan villa where I stayed for a while. It is a view behind the main building. The low wall intrigued me.

The painting is 16 x 16 inches, oil on stretched canvas. The framed dimensions are 18 x 18 inches. The shadow frame does not cut off any of the painting, which seems to float. It is signed and dated on the back.

I send a letter of provenance which increases the value of the work. All my artwork is copyrighted by Eleanor Gilpatrick. Copyright is nontransferable through the purchase of artwork.
