I have been in the kitchen and around the food industry most of my life. A part of me would love to own my own restaurant. But after catering and knowing what it really takes to run a swank restaurant, my passion for that dream somehow fades into the abyss of “then again…maybe not.”



My greatest passion, however, has been animals…especially dogs! I have made many dog meals for my furry babies, and it has escalated into homemade dog treats for friends and family as well. The more I read ingredient labels on dog treats, the less I bought. The more I heard horror stories of recalled treats made overseas, the more I baked. The more dog people I met and spoke with, the more I knew things needed to change. Dogs needed to get back to simple basics with recipes even veterinarians would approve of. I took out the wheat that makes them itch, corn that does not digest and soy. Don’t even get me started on how horrible soy (especially GMO) is. The last thing I really wanted to change was the addition of artificial color. Bow-Wowies treats are all FREE of artificial dyes and food coloring. Most homemade treats need to be kept in the fridge but not Bow-Wowies. They stay fresh for a few months without adding any preservatives. The first Bow-Wowies treat was the GRAIN FREE “Buck-a-Roos” it is still one of the most popular today.
