This is a scan of an unused antique French postcard. The undivided back tells me it dates to 1903 or earlier. (The uneven blank border was for the message area since it was illegal to write on the back of postcards back then:) IF you stand on your head and read upside down, you'll see that what the women are looking at is the latest copy of a paper: The New Life of Paris. It looks to be a life of ease: catching butterflies! This is such a fun, surreal collage: fake studio background, real women, color tinting. And you gotta love that huge bow hat! In red no less!
