I often joke that the best French postcards come from Germany. This is a scan of such a card -- a fine example of German printing (but the photography is by Reutlinger, who has his studio in Paris). Mailed from France in 1905 to Mademoiselle Marie Antoinette the back of the card says! (I have two scans of the back side of this card listed separately.) No doubt the sender chose this Marie Antoinette look-alike expressly for the recipient! My original card is deeply embossed, giving a ripples, 3-D effect, to the curls in the woman's hair. And look at that star-shaped beauty mark!
