This is a scan of an antique postcard featuring a real photo of a lovely woman taken by Reutlinger of Paris. That single name -- associated with photos of all the actresses and stage stars/dancers at the turn of the century -- was actually a trio of photographers: two brothers originally from Germany and the son of one of them born in Peru. Their photography studio was next door to the Chicago Times' European office in Paris!) Although the woman in this card is not identified, I'm sure she is a stage star of yesteryear. I call her Ms. Attitude cause I think she displays a lot of it in this pose. She reminds me of Helen Reddy's song "I am Woman!" A strong image to use in your collage art. Notice that this is a scan of a real photo that has been color tinted by hand -- a winning combination to create a great effect. Now also, you'll see I've scanned in a close-up section to show you that this card has an interesting charactistic -- lots of dots and specks almost like a marble or granite pattern, like pointalism -- which I'm assuming is the result of the paper content. I, personally, love the effect. All the more authentic and antique looking. IF you print this scan out small, you may not even be able to see it. But if you print this out large (say, wall art size of 8 x 11) it might show up. OH, just fyi: my original postcard that this scan is made from -- it it unused and hence, no postmark, but it has an undivided back which dates its printing to 1903 or earlier. Printed in Germany -- as millions of the best French postcards were:)
