Oh! Bees for lunch! Yummy:) Yes, if you enlarge this scan, you'll see that Daddy Bird didn't bring home the bacon, but he brought a big bee for his trio of baby birds. Momma Bird's tail is UP! Is she on guard against the meddling bird at top or is that one from the nest who's over eager to get his share?! All in all, a delightful, detailed, action-packed illustration on this French postcard mailed in 1907 to Mademoiselle Martinville. And there's just enough blank space at the right edge for your ribbon hole punch or anything else you'd like to add, a stamp or words perhaps, to customize this into a charming gift tag or greeting card. The first photo you see is a cropped gallery close up. Look at the second and third photos to see the full size scan. The first one is a tweaked version giving it a brighter, white background. The second version is the original postcard in its yellow-aged, century + condition. I like the way the blue pops out more in the tweaked version but I love the authenticity of the antique look in the original. Since I couldn't decide myself which one I prefered, I'm going to let you decide:) When you put in your order, please specify WHICH VERSION you want: the original or the white/bright version?
