I think of this image as a nude woman sitting atop an open book, contemplating if she's going to fall into it. Do you think I'm seeing things? It is actually a statue of the Roman goddess Diana, who ruled over hunting, the moon and birthing. She's got one hand on her bow in this sculpture. I am looking forward to playing with this image myself. I've given you a head start on making your own collage with the altered version you see in the first two photos. Wonderful clean lines, so it comes as no surprise to learn that this sculpture was created in 1924, during the Art Deco era, by a Frenchman named Ary Bitter. You can see it in Roubaix, France, in the city swimming pool that has been converted into a museum!
