I have been beading in one form or another most of my life. I started to get serious about it in the mid 90's, and did what most people did in the mid 90's, I sold through consignment shops. For being a beginner, I was surprised at how well I was doing. It definitely motivated me to try and do more with my work. Unfortunately, in the early part of the decade, consignment shops started to go under, as, in the wake of 9/11, it seemed people weren't shopping as easily as they used to. For a while, I did the occasional craft fair, just to keep my feet wet. But now, with the birth of the online handmade movement, I can once again go full tilt at my love of beading.

As my shop announcement says, I *do* pride myself on using the best quality stones I can find. I also enjoy finding those special or unique stones that a lot of other shops don't have, like kashgar garnet, golden sheen obsidian, red creek jasper, and kambaba jasper. The thing I enjoy most about jewelry is when someone sees you wearing something they have never seen before and "Ooh!" and "Aah!" over it, and ask you where you got it. I know how special a feeling that can be, and love to able to provide that feeling to you.

I have several fun and interesting collections in my shop, like my magnifying glass necklaces and my aromatherapy necklaces. When form and function meet, it can be pretty cool.

The thing I work at most with my jewelry is versatility. I study fashion, and fashion trends. I try to make sure I am creating pieces that you can wear many times, and with multiple outfits. I think of jewelry as an extension of your wardrobe. I know a lot of women buy separates, so that they can mix and match the many pieces of their wardrobe and get multiple combinations and looks out of them. It is with that idea in mind that I create many of my pieces. I don't want to create a piece that you can only wear with your fancy gown. I want a piece you can wear with your t-shirt and jeans, with your power suit, with your little black dress, and with your turtleneck sweater, if possible. If you ask a certain level of versatility out of your wardrobe, why should you ask less of your jewelry?
