Hi my name is Gillian. I am 51, have been married for 27 years and have two sons, 19 and 22.
I was born in England and moved to South Australia when I was 10. We now live in Adelaide in the beautiful suburb of Hallett Cove, just a few minutes away from the beach; this is where I love to go for inspiration to create my pieces.
I always favoured art at school. It was during this time I remember watching a friend of my Moms hand painting a plate, I was hooked. This was the start of my passion for porcelain painting. Since then I have received tuition from several leading South Australian porcelain teachers.
In seeking a change of direction I started experimenting with glass four years ago, I find this medium rewarding and challenging. I have attended many different courses and learnt so many new techniques from well known glass artists. I particularly like working with Dichroic glass, the colours of this glass are stunning. It is especially exciting opening the kiln after firing to see what I have created.
My artwork is displayed in many different shops around South Australia. With Zibbet, I now have the opportunity to show my art around the world.
