# This 7-card set and WPI tool contains the information you will need most often.

# All cards are 3 5/16" x 5 1/4" durable plastic.

# 5 different colors of cards help you locate the desired card faster.

# Cards are fastened with a key ring that keeps them assembled in your knitting bag, tote bag or purse.

# 2nd key ring included, in case you want to keep the WPI tool at home, separate from the other cards. Saves room in your bag.

# Needle & Hook Gauge (white, far right, on the top of the pile) enables you to measure 24 knitting needle sizes in US sizes 000 to 35, metric sizes 1.5 to 19 mm and crochet hoo sizes B to S. One side of the card measures inches and the other measures cm. Handy information guide included.

# Made to Fit Body Measurement card (pink) lets you jot down chest, shoulder, neck, center back, arm length measurements and more for up to four people. Use a pencil and you can even erase measurements, e.g.: as a child or grandchild grows. Or erase your ex-husband and...well, you get the idea. Back of card gives detailed and valuable information for obtaining a form fit, close fit, loose fit, etc.

# Yarn Yardage Estimator card (pink) gives concise, easy formulas that let you convert your swatch to useful knitting dimensions as well as when you need to make adjustments.

# Yarn Classification Chart (orange) gives the wraps per inch, yardage, gauge, needle sizes and hook sizes for lace, fingering, sport, DK, worsted, heavy worsted and bulky yarns.

# Knitting Needle Inventory card (yellow) will save you from scratching your head as you try to remember whether or not you have size 5 circular needles. Use a pencil to jot down your inventory in circular, flex, single pointed and double pointed needles from US size 0 to 15 (2 to 10mm).. As your inventory increases or decreases, you can easily update your records.

# Yarn Yardage Table card (yellow) gives you ballpark yardages. One table gives estimates for hats, mittens, socks, afghans, scarves...while the other side of the card breaks down sweaters by check measurements. And both sides break down the yardages for men, women, children and babies according to the gauge of yarn you are using.

# WPI tool and (blue) card comes with a second key ring, so you can attach it to the first six cards or keep it separate. (Some people like to keep this card and tool at home.) This smooth wooden tool measures the thickness of mystery yarn whose label has fallen off to help you estimate needle size and gauge. If you mix yarns in one garment, this will help you determine if the yarns are compatible in weight. The WPI tool is made of birch hardwood. Instructions give needle sizes in both US and metric, plus crochet hook sizes. Gauges are given in both stitches per inch and name of gauge, e.g.: fingering, sport, etc.
