I am making this tutorial after trying numerous methods of weaving a ribbon through kufi and beanie hats.

I did not like leaving long tails hanging down that could pose a strangulation hazard for small children.

I did not like the fact that sewing or gluing the ribbon ends made it impossible to fit every child’s head and you cannot change the ribbon out for a new look.

I did not like how tying the ribbon usually meant tying and re-tying when it came untied (aren’t tying your toddlers shoes enough?).

So I spent hours working on a new way to fix all of these issues. My new method will alleviate all the problems I (and possibly you) have experienced!

The Kufi Band is made using 5/8" ribbon and takes just minutes or less to make. It is adjustable and interchangeable with no excess ribbon trailing down and no tying and re-tying. It can be worn weaved through a kufi or beanie, or alone as a headband! Use the same band for multiple hats or multiple bands for one hat. Notice in the pictures I used the same brown hat to get two very different looks! I also used the same hot pink ribbon band and bow with two different hats!
