INSPIRATION: My mother was blonde with lovely long legs, a beautiful figure and a sweet face. She and dad dated from the time they were in their very early teens during the mid 30s.


Dad said that during lunch at East High in Denver, they would go across the street to a little soda shop and plan their life together. They made a striking couple. She looked so feminine against his slim, tall physique and black hair. I think she must have been on my mind when I drew this portrait.


This is a print of my original pen and ink drawing. It was printed in my studio on my amazing Epson 3800 Pro.


This art is printed on an 8.5 x 11 premium quality, acid free, matte archival paper, with ultra chrome pigmented inks. This means that it will last longer than a lifetime and with proper care, will not deteriorate nor yellow. It is the type of printing process often used for and offered by galleries and museums. Your art will be given a generous coating of clear spray protective sealer.

I am selling this art unframed. However, the last image shows “She Was Blonde” in a digital frame with a double mat to give you an idea of how it looks in a finished state. Your art will have a sepia tone.


Your art will be signed on the front and will also be signed on the back with my name — Susan Givens — and the title of the print. It will come with a certificate of authenticity.



Your print will not have the watermark on it. It will come to you in a clear envelope, encased in sturdy cardboard.
