Upcycled Purse, Knit Your Bit, Red/Purple/Sage
Knitting: It's not just for hipsters anymore!
This is an upcycled purse. The original thrifted Guess purse was brown, about 9 inches tall (plus strap), and about 11 inches wide, about 2.5 inches deep at the base, zipper closure, one interior compartment with a small zippered interior side pocket, clean dark cloth interior, silvertone hardware in good condition. Strap is short and not adjustable--it will work best for a shoulder carry for most users.
I restyled the purse with paint, collage, sharpies, ink, and modpodge. The image is from the George Eastman House uploads to Flickr Commons, and features an unnamed older woman from a daguerreotype, c. 1858. The slogan "Knit Your Bit" is from a campaign during WWI, inviting women to contribute handmade socks to the war effort.
The old iPod in photo #4 is for scale purposes online and not included in this listing.
