Edward Detmold and Fabres Book of Insects 1983 Lithographs

by PetitPoulailler

Edward Detmold and Fabres Book of Insects 1983 Lithographs, Pl 67-8

Two wonderful illustrations from Edward J. Detmold, gleaned from a damaged 1983 reference book on children's book illustrations.

Both insect prints were included in the 1921 volume 'Fabre's Book Of Insects' and the captions read -

'The Sacred Beetle. Sometimes the Scarab seems to enter into partnership with a friend.'

and

'The Cicada. In July, when most of the insects in my sunny country are parched with thirst, the Cicada remains perfectly cheerful.'

The heavy, 2-sided paper measures 8.25" x 11" (21x28 cm) and both prints are enormously frame-worthy. There are no tears, folds, creases, or marks.

Lovely to frame for your home decor, perfect for your art - card and tag creations, collage, decoupage scrap book page making.

You are purchasing an original 1983 paper and it does not have watermarks. I will send this to you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st Class mail.
