Description

From Court Magazine, June 1834, a beautiful engraved portrait ~ 'The Right Honourable Emily Mary, Countess Cowper'.

Court Magazine, 'Original Papers by Distinguished Writers' was a "ladies magazine" and was *the* authority for Fashion and the Arts for early 19th century London Society.

The 175+ year old engraving has a still-attached protective tissue covering ~ the portrait is clear and beautiful with only the surrounding margins betraying age, showing light foxing.

The engraving measures 3.75" x 4.5" (10x11 cm) and is credited to Sir Thomas Lawrence & J. Cochran. The portrait was included in the June 1834 edition of 'Court'. The entire paper measures 5.5" x 9.5" (14x24 cm) and there are no folds, tears, creases, or marks.

A stunning piece to frame ~ for your bath, your studio, your dressing room. Or perhaps this will find its way into your art?

You are purchasing an original 1834 paper and it does not have watermarks. The matting you see in these photos is not included with this listing. I'll send this to you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st Class mail.
