2000 Blossoms and Blooms, Marshal 'Florilegium' Botanical Lithographs, 67
Four gorgeous botanical illustrations, reprinted in 2000 from the original 17th century English masterpiece, 'Florilegium' by self-taught artist Alexander Marshal, 1620-1682.
Marshal painted only as a pastime and, as a gentleman, his vocation was horticulture and entomology. His art and 'Florilegium' was meant as a pleasure for him and his family.
The hundreds of paintings were created over a span of 30+ years, with the majority of them completed during the 1650's.
And they are so lovely. The 2-sided pages are quite heavy and each measures 6" x 7.5" (15x19cm). There are no marks, creases, folds, or tears on either page.
These are sumptuous studies for framing ~ for your entryway, your bath. Or perhaps as backgrounds for your art? ... the works are classically beautiful.
You are purchasing 2 original 2000 papers and they do not have watermarks. I'll send this to you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st Class mail.
