Antique 1919 Kristian Kongstad Engraving of Market Towns of Denmark, Featuring Rønne

A beautiful engraving of the 1919 folio collection by Kristian Kongstad featuring the quaint village street in Rønne, Denmark, an ancient market town on the Danish Island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea.

Finely detailed, the street view is of Laksegade, or Salmon Street, the oldest avenue of the town and scene of the founding nobility's homes dating back to 1000. The heavy cream-colored card stock is blank on its reverse and the captioning reads, 'Rønne, Laksegade' or 'Rønne, Salmon Street'.

Rønne remains a quaint market town with a fairy tale look ~ cobbled streets, half-timbered houses and interesting museums, it now deals mainly in tourism.
