The Splendid Humming Bird. Nectarinia Splendida.
A sumptuous hand colored Victorian engraving from Sir William Jardine's 1843 natural history ornithology reference.
Finely etched and published by William H. Lizars of Edinburgh, the heavy paper is top-tipped in gold and is blank on its reverse, measuring 4" x 6.625" (10x17 cm) and shows little tanning. There are no folds, creases, marks, or tears on the paper.
An absolutely beautiful subject to frame or use in your art ~ it's a lovely antique paper.
You are purchasing an original 1843 engraving and it does not have watermarks. I'll send this to you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st Class mail.
