The Cora Humming Bird. Trochilus Cora.
A luscious natural history-hand colored engraving gleaned from William Jardine's Naturalist Library's 1833 volume on ornithology.
Blank on its reverse, the heavy paper is top-tipped in gold and measures approx 4" x 6.625" (10x17 cm). The protective tissue guard remains attached and the page shows little tanning to betray its 175+ years. The edges are clean and clear and there are no tears, folds, creases, or marks on the paper. An absolutely beautiful subject to frame or use in your art.
