Antique 1925 Paris Fashions Pochoir Print Featuring Madame Pompadour Skirt Styles and Couture
A stunning original French pochoir print from Paul Louis de Giafferri's 1925 magnificent folio work ~ 'History of Feminine Costume from 1037 - 1870'.
Hand-painted on card, the pochoir print is simply scrumptious. Nine hand-colored illustrations of 'Jupes', or skirts, from the era of Louis XV and his mistresses, Madame de Pompadour and Madame du Barry, 1640-1715 are featured.
The heavy paper is blank on its reverse, measures 10.75" x 14.625" (27x37 cm), and shows gentle tanning. There are no tears, folds, creases, or tears. The colors are bright and lovely and the French-text key at the bottom is bright and clear.
