Antique Hummingbird 1833 Victorian Sir William Jardine Naturalist's Library 'Recurved-Billed Humming Bird' Hand Colored Engraving [Trochilus Recurvirostris]

A gorgeous natural history-hand colored engraving gleaned from William Jardine's 1833 volume on ornithology.

Blank on its reverse, the heavy paper is top-tipped in gold and measures approx 4" x 6.625" (10x17 cm). The protective tissue guard remains attached and the paper shows little tanning. There is a 1/4" dog-earred tear at the lower right corner ~ matting or framing will easily see to this. There are no folds, creases, marks, or other tears on the paper.

A beautiful subject to frame or use in your art ~ it's a lovely antique paper!
