Antique 1925 Paris Fashions Pochoir Print Featuring French King Louis XV Embroidery Styles and Couture
A stunning French pochoir print from Paul Louis de Giafferri's 1925 magnificent folio work ~ 'History of Feminine Costume from 1037 - 1870'.
Hand-painted on card, these prints are simply scrumptious. This plate features 18 hand-colored vignettes of decorative embroideries from the Louis XV era, the Sun King, 1640-1715 (Pl 9).
The heavy paper is blank on its reverse, measures 10.75" x 14.625" (27x37 cm), and shows a gentle edge tanning. There are no tears, folds, creases, or marks.
The colors are bright and lush and the explanation key is at the page bottom in French text. A wonderful paper to frame. ... or will you use this in your art?
