Description

From Randolph Caldecott, a beautiful pochoir print from a 1890 1st Edition, 'The Queen of Hearts'. A soft bound book measuring 8" x 9" (20x23 cm), this was one of the Caldecott's '1 Shilling Picture Books'.

The paper is smooth and clear and a natural off-white, showing surprisingly little tanning or soiling, especially for a children's book.

The pochoir is wonderful, bright, and fun and, if you look to the background, you can just catch a glimpse of that scoundrel Knave of Hearts, stealing away with the Queen's tarts.

What a wonderful print to frame for the new baby's room or the new reader ... or perhaps you'll want this for your art ~ card-making, collage, decoupage.
