Description

"Freedom" is offered as a 16x20" genuine Giclee Canvas Reproduction. It is stretched using 3/4" deep stretcher bars and gallery wrap technique. This technique allows the painting to be hung without the need for further framing. The edge is painted black creating a clean and unobtrusive border.

The inspiration for this painting came from an unusual place. A friend of mine is a hypno-therapist. She has a wonderful website featuring tons of information and stories. One of those stories featured the life lesson that fear is a chain binding our creativity and inspiration. The purpose of life is to learn how to break the bonds of fear and fly free. As I read this passage I saw a butterfly (life is fragile after all) breaking the "chain" of fear...hence the painting!

The best thing about art is that it is subjective. Just because I feel it means something specific doesn't mean that you have too! Sometimes the purpose of art is just to make you smile...or ponder...or feel.

While I create this Giclee in a standard 16x20" size it can be created in other sizes as well. Just shoot me a message for other size options and pricing.

Lastly, the term Giclee is new to a lot of people. Below is an "official" definition of the term:

PRINTING PROCESS:
Giclée is a French word (pronounced Gee-Clay) meaning spraying of ink. All Giclees are produced on either 100% Cotton, all rag 310 gram paper or Classic Fine Weave canvas. For this listing the Classic Fine Weave canvas was used.

What is the quality of the Giclée reproduction method?

Giclees are one of the finest reproduction methods available today. The depth of color far surpasses that of lithographs. Pigment based inks are superior in archival quality than dye based inks (dye fades quickly) My Giclees are created using Pigment based archival inks printed on a Roland HiFi 12 color printer.
