Profile for TheSoapMagician

Hi, I'm Sharon Burnett and I own, operate and make all of the soap here at The Soap Magician. I have been making soap since 1998 because my skin didn't react very well to commercially processed soaps. In 2002, I was down-sized from my corporate position and tried several other ways to earn an income. It finally came to me, "why not do what you love?" And that is how I came to open and operate The Soap Magician.

I try to make soap at least 3 days a week, and attend local venues at least once or twice a week. I love to explore the different ways you can make soap and everything that makes scents. So that's how I came up with my slogan of "Bath, Body, and Things That Make Scents!"

I must say that it is the people that I have met along my life's journey that have been the inspiration for me to walk this path. And for that I am eternally grateful and I love each and every one of you for it.

All of my soaps are made with natural oils purchased from three of the top 10 bath product suppliers. My herbs are purchased from an organic supplier in Oregon. And my essential oils and fragrance oils are also purchased from only reputable suppliers.

I am a resident of a small Florida town, called Zephyrhills, which is known for its bottled water, Zephyrhills Spring Water. Our water is obtained from underground springs. The distilled/purified spring water is what I use in my soaps, etc. making.

And I am very proud of the ingredients I use.

My cold/hot processed soaps are made in small 2 pound batches to insure they are the freshest when they arrive at your door. My handmade cold/hot processed soaps are made throughout the year and since they are made the old fashion way, they do require several weeks to cure. And because they are made in small batches, the color and appearance will vary from batch to batch

The glycerin soaps I make NEVER contain sodium lauryl sulfate aka SLS, a caustic detergent useful for removing grease; although commonly included in personal care items (shampoos and toothpastes etc.) it can irritate skin and should not be swallowed; or sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES) some evidence and research suggest that SLES can also cause irritation after extended exposure. This information is readily available on the internet and it is my opinion of these two ingredients as well. Please do your own research.

And they are never tested on animals.

The same variation in color also applies to my glycerin soaps since they too are made in batches of no more than 4 - 8 bars at one time.

Due to my soaps being made by hand, the weight of each sealed bar will vary by batch.

***TIPS:***
Store your unused soap in a cool dry place.

Use a ventilated soap dish or rack to keep you soap dry while not in use.

Use your new soap within one year of purchase.

**** Soap Tips for the Summer***

Here in Florida it gets mighty HOT and HUMID from around May to October. This means that soaps may become oily, greasy or sweaty (glycerin) upon delivery. If this happens, simply unwrap them and let them sit at room temperature for approximately one hour.

The Soap Magician is a proud member of the The Handcrafted Soapmaker's Guild, Inc.

Contact me, if you see an item you like, but the fragrance may be something you don't care for. I can let you know what other fragrance/essential oils I carry to accommodate your unique request and set up a reserved listing for you.

Some of my old-fashioned natural soaps contain animal products such as lard. This information will be indicated in the soap description and ingredients.

Some may contain essential oils, fragrance oils (or combination of both), herbs and flowers, and occasionally soap color.

Please read my disclaimer under Policies for use of any products.
