Profile for TimelyImpressions

We had time on our hands, so we started this effort to turn it to good use and make our mortgage payments. Friends who had been designing and building clocks showed us the ropes and turned us loose! Sometimes inspiration comes from the materials at hand, other times from other people's crafts - I look at the work of beaders and wire-wrappers and I handle the satiny lucite I use for the painted clocks and something is coming together for a new line of clocks involving mixed media. Looking at the work of the fused glasa artists, and at some of my square metal clocks, I have an idea for a combination there, as well. When we redid a bathroom a few years ago, we put down a pebble tile floor. The rounded shapes of the heated pebbles and sanded grout under bare feet, seem like being outside on a hot summer day. I have a a few squares of pebble tiles left - I wonder how that might wind up in a clock someday!
