Formed by Karen and Gina Koenig, two sisters from Los Angeles,UNEARTHED is the culmination of a lifelong love of fashion and art, and a decade long obsession with leather craft.

In the early months of 2007, those passions fused together to create a singular art form, and a new expression of the unique and beautiful - a company dedicated to style and craftsmanship, and committed to creating the distinct and unusual.

With a fine art education, the elder of the two sisters has always always found a way to transform everyday objects into art, believing that ordinary was NEVER acceptable. This is the philosophy at the core of our creations. Each item transcends it's designed purpose and function to stand as a powerful statement of elegance and unrestrained beauty.

Each accessory is made only from the most beautiful of exotic materials, and all leathers are hand selected for exquisiteness of pattern and color. And, like the urban,sophisticated, and modern individual these objects are designed for, no two are ever exactly alike.

Along with strict principles of style, the principle of quality is also held dear. The Koenig sisters have vowed to themselves and to their discerning buyers NEVER to use embossed leathers and imitation skins, but ONLY the exquisite real thing - straight from the earth.

Today, Unearthed is more than just a company, more than just a product - it is a lifestyle.

We would also like to make it known that we purchase our materials from reputable distributors, each with individual track-able records and each officially tagged and numbered from local fish and game authorities.
We are also fully CITES compliant.

♥A Note from our distributor on our stingray: These skins are a by-product of the local fishing industry as Stingray is a food fish in that area. If it could not be used it would be discarded as waste. All the other skins form part of the food chain & the skins are a by-product. No rare or endangered species are involved.

♥ There are many cultures & religions based in the Far East, the variety of fish caught & eaten is far different to that in the Northern Hemisphere. Likewise the selection of creatures FARMED for their meat is very different. The Tanners ,the Leather Industry & Leather Craftsmen like us use these skins which would otherwise be destroyed as waste.
