1950s Auto Bridge Game Charles Goren

Description

This 1950s Auto Bridge Game was designed to help anyone learn to play bridge in a matter of a few weeks. This game comes with a 5" x 7" gray and red metal Auto-bridge tray and 24 two-sided "deal sheets". The accompanying booklet "The ABC's of Contract Bridge" by Charles Goren contains a simplified course "to teach beginners... and correct faulty players."

Quite a retro blast from the past, this game still has all you need to learn or improve your game. The metal tray is in good condition, with a few slight rust spots on some of the black knobs (No attempt was made to remove the rust)

The 24 deal sheets are two sided and are numbered 1 through 48. There is some yellowing of the paper and some folds on the corners, but overall in good condition and very usable.

The box is in fair condition with some wear noted. There is a 3" section missing on the box lid (see images).

The booklet contains a detailed information of the game of bridge, as well as explanations of each of the "hands" included with the set. The booklet and all the contents of this set are copyrighted 1950. The advertising brochure, however, includes information on the "New 1954 Issue", so this set probably dates from the mid to late 1950s.

This listing includes all items shown in the images: box, metal tray, deal sheets, booklet, and advertising brochure.
