Bright red, wire-wrapped berries dangle against antiqued-bronze coloured, heart-shaped filigree leaves.

The blood-red 'berries' are 'miracle beads' or 'wonder beads'. A miracle bead has an acrylic core with a silver mirror-plate finish, which is coated with several layers of coloured lacquer. In effect, the bead is a spherical mirror, reflecting its outer surface, creating the illusion of a bead within a bead.
This effect can only be seen in certain light. The rest of the time the bead simply appears to glow with colour – in this case, a brilliant, eye-catching scarlet.
I love the vibrant red of these miracle beads, and the way they give a touch of drama to this otherwise unassuming design. The antiqued finish on the filigree hearts or leaves gives the earrings a subtle hint of vintage.

The 'Red Berries' earrings are lightweight and easy to wear. They measure 44mm from top to bottom, while the leaves measure 27mm lengthwise and 24mm across. The ear hooks are without nickel, so most sensitive ears should be fine with these earrings. The earrings come with little, removable plastic stoppers to help prevent the hooks from working their way out of the wearer's ears.
