Profile for WigWamCrafts
Living in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, I was inspired to take what once was a hobby and make it a business. I have been doing this type of work for almost 20 years and have gone full-time in the past 10 years. The best part of this, besides the joy of creating intricate artwork, is that I can truthfully say that I love my job. I also love the fact that by being in business for myself, I can keep the prices reasonable due to low overhead. Everyone deserves the right to afford beautiful handcrafted items, don’t you think?
I have always been proud of my Native American ancestry and now use my joy of bead working to do more than just earn a living. I am honored to share my gifts from the Creator of All Things by demonstrating my personal beading style at Native American events called *PowWows. The best part of demonstrating to the general public is watching the children absorb the information that they receive. That is what it is truly about. You know that you have to do quality work if you are gong to pass it along to the next generations, so no slap-shod work is allowed.
Whether I am set up a PowWow , our local flea market, or similar type venue, I do my very best to set my vendor stand in a pleasing way that honors our heritage and our veterans. I also make sure that I have small items for children available. I have items, ALL handcrafted, that vary in prices from $0.75 to over $100. I try to carry something for everyone.
