Welcome to Wild Woman Jewelry!

My name is Karon and I live in New Brunswick on Canada’s beautiful east coast. All the jewelry you see at Wild Woman is made by me in my little home studio. I am inspired by color, words and quotes, sparkle, simple lines, whimsy, the 1940's and 1970's, the beach, vintage and well-loved pieces, mixed metals and an industrial esthetic as well... ahhhh, so many possibilities!

For 17 years, I was an elementary school teacher and administrator. A few years ago, I decided to make a change and here I am - making jewelry and celebrating new beginnings! I am enthusiastic, neat, love to laugh, am a member of a book club, swoon over any shade of green, believe nachos are an entire food group, am afraid of heights, organize and arrange everything in my line of sight, need more space for my shoes, am married to a fantastic guy, love science fiction, listen to Hawaiian music, am VERY visual, love sunrises and sunsets and walking on the beach, plant hundreds of tulips every year and adore my nieces and nephews! I’ve always loved to make pretty things or make things pretty!

romance...simplicity...elegance...purity... inspired by windswept beaches, rolling sand dunes, worn white picket fences, wild roses, tumbled seaglass, sparkling water and nature's coastal hues, I am thrilled to introduce the first pieces in my new collection of beautiful beach inspired jewelry.

* b l o o m e r s
The term ‘bloomers’ derives it’s name from Amelia Bloomer who was inclined to wear clothing that fell into line with the period’s modest fashions but would also allow her to comfortably pursue her latest passion ~ bicycling! She was also a crusader for women and children through her own newspaper, The Lily ~ a fine role model for us all.
These frilly, bold and bright artist create lampwork glass disks and beads in bold colors are mixed with sterling silver and joined to allow lots of movement ~ bloomers. Each pair is ONE-OF-A-KIND!

...color, texture, fun...several earring designs mixing textured lampwork glass beads, coiled wire, sterling chain. Each design is named for a quality of the human spirit or just plain fun! Some of these pieces remind me of children’s paintings...bold, graphic, free.

* Soul, Sister
Bracelets, earrings and necklaces (many are ONE OF A KIND) inspired by beautiful quotes and exquisite, individually made, boro glass beads, vintage lucite or glass. I often hammer, oxidize and handpolish the metals for added depth, texture and shine. Borosilicate glass is unique in its strength, shine and durability. Boro glass has a very distinctive range of colors and is much more vibrant than softer glass.

Fun and inspiring handsculpted fine silver pieces made with precious metal clay are part of this collection.
