I have experience crocheting with Sundance Shaggy Shimmer Yarn. To give you an idea of how far this yarn can go, I was able to make a 4.75in x 23in scarflette by holding a strand of this yarn together with a strand of worsted weight yarn, using an "N" size crochet hook. I used one skein and had some leftover at the end.
