Vintage Weiss Rhinestone Stacked Brooch Signed
This is a beautiful Weiss brooch from the 50s comprised of paved and prongset, clear crystal rhinestones. It's condition is Excellent with all of the stones clear and the silvertone rhodium flawless.
The diameter of this piece is 1 7/8" wide. Due toit's being a 'stacked' brooch, it is approximately 1/2" high.
This brooch is in a floral motif with the base being marquise cut stones approximately 1/2" long and angled in a 'swirl'. Upon this base are 7 roundcut tones with a diameter of 1/4". They are set together to resemble a flower. From these stones spring up paved rhines in a silvertone setting to resemble ribbons.
This is a remarkable brooch in it's style and craftsmanship. Weiss is stamped clearly on the back and the pin and safety catch are in good working order. Though it looks in the pictures that a gold is showing though the paving and it is not. It is due to the lighting. I have checked it under a magnifier and both the stones and silvertone are intact.
This is a piece that is large enough to to add a festive look to a winter scarf or coat without being overpowering. The only thing that you need be concerned with is the blinding dazzle and shine!
