Gunne Sax Dress Vintage Prairie Style Tie Corset & Calico

Description

This Gunne Sax dress was manufactured in the early 70s in a Prairie Style. it was probably a precursor to the Boho designs that McClintock made so famous with numerous, harmonizing patters of Calico. This one is Calico but the pattern is the same only with reversed colors.
The Main fabric is a medium weight cotton blend and there is no need for a lining. Floral lace accents the neckline and can also be found on the cuffs of the billowing sleeves.
The bodice gains it's fullness from longitudinal gathers coming up from the waistline. It is primarily a white calico with blue flowers that melt into the same fabric as the sleeves.
The skirting is full, comprised of blue calico with white flowers. This theme is turned at the bottom third of the skirt where white calico takes over again edged in lace. The bottom ruffle reappears as the blue calico.
I really love this dress's styling and have one myself! the button cuffs with fabric closures are just right with this piece and the sashes ensure a great fit. I hope that You like this One!
