This Gunne Sax Dress is a Perfect example of Summertime attire in the 70's. You'd wake up on a Bright, Summer morning, wash your face and slip this over Your head. If you wanted to, you'd grab a pair of leather beaded thongs or opt for barefeet. Your hand tooled leather shoulder bag was grabbed and out the door you went. You had so little and yet, so much!
This Gunne is comprised of a cream colored gauzy cotton with an acetate lining. The shoulderstraps are just barely there at 9/16" wide. The entire top of the bodice is ringed in delicate lace that ends at the hidden zipper in the back.
The Bodice accents are extremely lovely with a vertical line of embroidered roses running down the front. This is framed by cream sateen ribbon and lace then windowed again by lace with pink ribbon woven through it. The Empire waist bis also windowed in the cream ribbon and sashes are pressent to tie in the back.
The skirt is lightly gathered at the empire waist and floats down to a gathered lace adorned ruffle. The condition of this dress is Excellent! I take a lot of Pride in My Gunne Sax dresses and this one is no exception. What a wonderful piece this would make for the summer!
