This is the style of dress that made Gunne Sax Famous. The Boho style fit right in with a need for a sturdy, yet quaint piece and a length that would lend itself to the popular, knee high boots of the day. The tie corset brought interest to the bodice and velveteen panels gave it just a hint of 'dressiness'. This was a Signature Style for McClintock and would be repeated over and over again in different variations.
This piece is a Rare size 13 So, it can fit today's figure. The fabric is a medium weight, cotton blend with a background of deep, navy blue. There are tiny white dots sprinkled upon the field of blue along with bouquets of lilac and maroon flowers with trailing leaves and stems.
The bodice is the famous tie corset style, framed with deep, hunter green panels that are accented with lace and white, woven ribbon. This feature is repeated at the neckline and encircles it to the hidden zipper in the back.
Sashes are present on both sides to tie in the back and adjust to size.
The sleeves are a lightweight, cotton blend of dotted swiss. They are gathered at the top and at the single button cuff for fullness and an airy effect.
The skirting is gathered and matches the calico of the bodice. It ends with a highly gathered ruffle of the same fabric. White lace ornaments the hem and the near bottom of the ruffle. Get out your boots and your suede shoulderbag. this can take you from late Summer and Fall into Winter if you like!
