Today I have a Fabulous Gunne Sax dress in trhe Prairie Style. We used to refer to these as merely 'sundresses' and wore them everywhere. this one is an incredible find with the large tan tag in place with the size tag that isn't marked with color at the bottom.
the fabric is a cotton blend comprised of red and white gingham and a contrasting floral of forest green with red flowers sprinkled upon it. The ribbon is deep red and unblemished and the fabric is crisp being new. I am always amazed when I find pieces like this. It reminds me of a 'time capsule'that has been unearthed after 40 years. It has been flawlessly preserved not even indicating 'store wear'. Even the green lace on the tie corset is deep and rich in color.
This is a one time discovery that I wish to share. I'v been fortunate enough to have many museum quality pieces and stock close to 150 Gunne Sax dresses. It's just time for me to share. Due to the laced corset and the longitudinal darts, there is more room in the bust area than is measured.
