Creating your Profile Page

Taking the time to create your ‘profile page‘ is essential, and if done well, will help increase your sales. It is rare that someone will buy your work without first looking at your profile.

Why, you ask…

Because the buyer wants to find out more about YOU - the ARTISAN – the CREATOR! They want to know your background, where you come from, what inspires you to do the kind of work you do, and what your creative process is. You need to CONNECT with your potential buyers; captivating them with who you are, the person behind the shop.

There are 3 ways you can connect via your profile:

1. Through Your Writing

The first obvious one is through your writing. Make sure what you’re writing is interesting, friendly and easy to read. It’d be very difficult to make a connection with someone who is struggling to read what you have written because it’s boring, dry and hard to follow.

2. Add Images (Premium sellers only)

Premium sellers are able to upload up to 5 images to display on your profile page. This is optional, but it’s a great opportunity to show people where you create your items, your creative process or where you draw inspiration from.

3. Include a YouTube Video (Premium sellers only)

Including a YouTube video in your profile is also only for Premium sellers and also optional, but highly recommended. You may want to do a short video simply introducing yourself, welcoming them to your shop, showing them where you do your work, or even taking them through your creative process. This is the best way to connect with your potential buyers as it allows them to see the REAL YOU! Of course not everyone is going to be comfortable in front of the camera. But if you are, uploading a YouTube video onto your profile page is a great idea.

Happy creating!

It appears I’m not alone. I, too, am unable to post any pictures to my profile. They appear to take, but then disappear into the ether. Pic sizes are well under the max so any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

I can via email for my community profile, but there is no such option here.
I’m using an iPad, as my pc is toast. Do I need to borrow a computer?
