Design and Style with Papernstitch: A Tidy Workspace
I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time working in a space that isn’t clean. I know its really difficult to keep a space tidy that is actually being worked in: yarn stacked everywhere, scissors out- paper scraps here and there, or tubes of paint, brushes and canvas.
But the workspace I am referring to is not for that kind of working (for the most part). Today’s workspaces are a place to write, read, work on the computer, pay bills, and all of that (sometimes) boring stuff.
So let’s explore a few…
Living Room Workspace: If your workspace is in a very public area, like a living room for example, keeping it tidy is a must when not in use. Choose a desk with several drawers, so you have a place to put those notebooks and pens at the end of each day.
An empty desk a little to “sterile” for you? Add a row or two of sheleves to store your favorite artwork right above you, like this workspace. Or pair it down and select just a few pieces to decorate with, like this one. Fresh flowers, for example, are always in style and never feel like clutter.
And if you’re just not the “tidy type” you can still look like you are. Consider using a bureau as a desk, so you can close the top when you’re done no worry about it. OR invest in an inexpensive storage solution and shove your clutter in those empty drawers and containers at the end of the day.
How would you describe your workspace?
