Importing Items from ArtFire

Zibbet is excited to welcome all of the new shops coming to us from ArtFire! To help you set up your shop quickly, we have a simple to use import tool. If you’re opening a Basic shop here on Zibbet, I encourage you to take advantage of all 50 listing spots for items. Also, if you have the same items listed in multiple venues it’s essential that you alter your item titles and descriptions significantly. Because Google doesn’t like duplicate content, it’s vital for improved SEO that you edit your item text. For specific tips on altering your listings, please take a look at What to do after importing our items… Also, set aside a few minutes to brush up on SEO concepts as they apply to your Zibbet shop starting with SEO 101: The Basics.

You should be able to import all of your ArtFire items using our import tool. Here’s how…

In your My Zibbet, click Import and Export in the Listings section in the column on the right hand side of the page.

Click the ArtFire Importer tab.

Follow the instructions on the ArtFire Importer screen.

In your ArtFire shop, click the Studio tab and then the Intro & Policies link to edit your “My Studio Intro” which is where you need to insert your code.

Enter your ArtFire shop’s unique username and select the status for your imported listings. Because you need to edit your listings, I highly recommend that you import them in Draft mode rather than making them Active immediately.

Click the Continue button. Your Continue button will become inactive and change to read “Please wait…” while your items are being imported.

Depending on the number of items you have to import, this process could take a while. However, after a few items have been imported you’ll be taken to a page that lists the items that have been imported so far. You can refresh this page every couple of minutes to see what other items have been imported.  If all items don’t import, repeat the process a couple of times - this should trigger most, if not all, items to come across.

If you chose for your items to be made Active immediately upon being imported, Active will appear under Status and the items will be seen on your shop’s FP. I recommend that you next Edit each of your items for improved SEO. For help with editing your items, please refer to Editing Items Imported from ArtFire.

Again, welcome to everyone moving to Zibbet from ArtFire. We know that you’ll find Zibbet to be a great place to offer your Handmade, Fine Art, Vintage and Supplies for sale. Be sure that you also open an account at Zibbet’s Community Hub. There you’ll find a wonderful group of experienced Zibbeters who are eager to share their knowledge and offer a helping hand.

Best wishes for much success on Zibbet!

Excellent instructions, as usual :>) Take it from me… I use the Artfire importer almost everyday in both my BaubleBin and WoodcotDesigns shops. It is so simple to use.

Even if you do keep a shop at Artfire you can continue to use the importer from Artfire to keep moving your items over to your Zibbet Account(s). Then, at some point if you decide to use Zibbet exclusively you are all ready to do that without a ton of work ahead of you.

If I were an Artfire Pro or Basic account Seller I would open a Zibbet account if for no other reason than you would have increased your visibility online and have twice as many chances of getting a sale.

Please do believe me… with this double barrel approach… it is paying huge dividends for me. It can be of huge benefit to all Artfire Sellers even the ones, like me, who plan to also stay at Artfire for now.

Thank you for the simple instructions. I plan to close my AF studio soon and I was feeling bad that all the effort I’d put into tweaking the listings to make them different from my Etsy listings for SEO purposes would go to waste. Then a friend of mine http://www.zibbet.com/sageteasocial told me about Zibbet and I decided to open a shop here. This importer made my life very very easy! :)

Thank you, Zibbet. The importer tool worked great. Some of my photos were “doubled”, but that was easy to fix (just deleted the repeats). You guys rock!
